Lorraine SantaLucia, CEO & Founder

Scholarship Sharing is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that is dedicated to helping students in Virginia & Washington D.C, North Carolina and beyond, get connected to resources for paying for college.

 

Scholarship Sharing is an organization that provides free services to families and annually serves over 28,000 students. Our foundation awarded $45,000 to 60 students since its founding. Since Covid-19 the charity disbanded and has left digital resources available for students on our website and socials.

Our Mission:

Scholarship Sharing provides students higher education funding resources through our programs and events that guide students throughout the college funding process, and award students scholarships through our foundation.

To provide higher education funding resources as a catalyst, and agent of change for individuals, families, and communities. We envision creating accessibility to affordable education for all regardless of economic circumstance.

Lorraine SantaLucia

Chief Executive Officer & Founder

Lorraine SantaLucia graduated debt-free from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelors in Mass Communications, her Post-Baccalaureate Nonprofit Management Certification, and her Profession Marketing Design Certification. She was awarded over $40,000 in scholarships by 20 foundations. She founded Scholarship Sharing at 17 years old. Since its founding, the nonprofit has provided 56 students with scholarships for college, and she organizes a Scholarship & College Fair which has over 4000 attendees annually. For making her mark in the community she was named a top 40 under 40 with Style Weekly at just 25 years old, and was the 2017 Hispanic Trailblazer Award recipient by the Hispanic Leadership Forum of Hampton Roads. A force to be reckoned with this nonprofit leader runs the organization onsite-event management, marketing, fundraising, program development, media relations, donor relations, and organizational oversight.

Marie Ramkey:

Treasurer

Marie is a CPA and full-time mom and accountant. A graduate of the University of Richmond, Marie assists individuals and small businesses with taxes in Richmond VA and the surrounding communities. Marie has years of valuable experience as an IRS registered tax preparer. She has worked as the treasurer for Scholarship Sharing helping to create annual budgets, organize funding goals, files SCC requirements, and manages the daily financial operations for the nonprofit foundation.

Rochelle Smith:

Volunteer Services Chair

Rochelle Smith is an Active Duty Navy Veteran. She completed her Nonprofit Management and Communications degrees from Johns Hopkins University. She plays an active role in our engagement with recruiting volunteers, organizing fundraisers, and locating donated resources for events. She also acts as our Military Family Liason.

Christal Marshall

Marketing & Communications Chair

Christal Marshal is a full-time Photographer and Videographer for her own small business Virginia Photos and Films. She is also a graphic designer and social media manager with Studio Marshall Arts. She manages the creation of promotional videos for the organization, maintains the Scholarship Sharing website, and creates posts for the social media platforms of the nonprofit.

Patricia Burchett

Community Outreach Chair

Patricia works for the Federal Government, and as a mentor to Richmond youth. She is a small business owner of PB VA services where she provides administrative assistance to small businesses remotely. She previously worked with the Chesterfield County Adult Continuing Education Program as a (GED) Instructional Assistant. She completed her Masters in Higher Education Administration at the College of William and Mary.  Patricia is our community outreach go-to working with school districts in Central Virginia to hold scholarship presentations, engage school districts with college preparedness events, and represents Scholarship Sharing at college fairs, scholarship nights, festivals, community functions, and after-school programs.
